Alcoholic Beverages

In the United States, alcoholic beverages are defined under the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). According to 27 CFR 1.10:

Alcoholic beverages refer to any beverage containing 0.5% or more of alcohol by volume. This includes a wide range of products such as wine, beer, distilled spirits, and liquors. The term covers any form of beverage where alcohol is the active ingredient.

For different categories of alcoholic beverages, there are specific regulations that govern production, labeling, distribution, and taxation across various CFR sections, including but not limited to 27 CFR Part 4 for wine, 27 CFR Part 5 for distilled spirits, and 27 CFR Part 7 for malt beverages.
